The violinist I'm talking about is Eric Lewis, first violinist of the Manhattan String Quartet of 40 years. Eric has created a violin course that teaches you how to play violin like a master, it's called Violin Master Pro and this is a review. But more about Eric in just a minute. Let's talk about where I fit in to this for a second...
I've been playing violin for a few months now. If you're just starting out, I was exactly where you are just a few months ago. I know that violin can be a tough instrument to pick up.
When I first started, I took lessons with a couple different local teachers. They had all these strict rules and the lessons were really expensive. In the end I had to stop going because I just couldn't afford to keep paying $52/hour every week.
So then I tried to learn to play the violin on my own without any resources, and man was that hard. My progress really took off though when I finally tried online lessons...
Why online lessons?
That's a good question. You see, when most people want to learn an instrument they'll start out with a few lessons from a local teacher (sound familiar?). But with the internet making everything so easy, I believe getting a local teacher is actually the harder and more expensive option...
Let me tell you why...
Most online lessons are actually cheaper than getting a teacher when you compare hour by hour. Also, with online lessons you learn at your own pace, and you learn the things that are most important to you (not what the teacher thinks is most important).
The best part about online lessons though, is that you get to test out your teacher for free if you don't like them. That's right, if you don't like the lessons for any reason, you can get your money back. All you have to do it ask. Can you do that with a lesson from a local teacher? I don't think so...
So what online course should I get?
The course that I recommend is Violin Master Pro, which was created by the world renowned Manhattan Quartet Violinist Professor Eric Lewis.
So what is his course like?
Let's Start With The Not-So-Cool Stuff:
-You're given all the videos and all the lessons, so it's all up to you how to practice them. That's the hard part, you've got to practice. Eric makes this very easy though, you just have to follow along with him and play through the exercises he shows you in order to see progress...
-It's all up to you to, there's no one to hold you hand through this or force you to practice. This sounds hard at first, but it's my favorite part. It's my favorite because once you finish the course, you'll feel so proud of yourself for accomplishing so much and coming so far on your own. It's quite a feeling. You'll also be able to play through the course at your own pace, instead of waiting to see your teacher each week until you can get the next step...
So What's The Cool Stuff About Violin Master Pro?
-You get lessons from Eric Lewis, the Manhattan String Quartet Violinist. He's been teaching violin for 41 years and has been playing for even longer. His unique style and energy shows through in his teaching, making it a very pleasurable experience to learn from a true master. Eric shares the secrets he's learned over his 40 year journey that I've never seen anywhere else. They'll boost your progress and help you pass any stumbling blocks you come across...
-If you are just starting or have been playing for a little while, then this is perfect for you. When you buy the course you'll get access to the (exclusive) violin video library, step by step playing instructions, play along tracks, and more too...
-It costs less than any 1 hour lesson from any violin teacher I've known (they'll charge you $40-$50 per hour on average)...
-You can learn how to play the violin on your own time and on your own terms. You play on your own time so you can take just the time you need to play like a pro and supercharge your progress on the violin...
-The coolest part? If you want to return the course within 8 weeks after you buy it, for any reason, you can. No risk, no questions asked, just your money back. I think that's pretty cool...
